Shuttertweet: A New Way to Tweet about Shutterstock

66 posts in this topic

If you’re on Twitter, we just made it easier for you to tweet about all the cool work you’re showcasing on Shutterstock, and if you haven’t taken the plunge into the Twittersphere – we invite you to join us.

Shuttertweet gives you the ability to instantly send out tweets regarding new images added to your portfolio. Shuttertweet will also update the Twitter community with your download count each day.

Plus, we added your referral ID to the Twitter urls so if someone makes a purchase after clicking the link, you’ll make a referral commission!

Here’s how the tweets will look:

- I sold 10 images today through @shutterstock! My gallery is here:

http://www.shutterstock.com (link to your gallery will be provided in tweet)

- I just got 10 images accepted to @shutterstock! Check out my gallery

here: http://www.shutterstock.com (link to your gallery will be provided in tweet)

To sign up, login to the submit site and click the option under "Make Money" (or click here: https://submit.shutterstock.com/admin.mhtml#shuttertweet ) and then connect your Shutterstock account to your Twitter account, which will approve us to send the tweets on your behalf. You can deactivate Shuttertweet at any time.

We look forward to seeing you at: http://twitter.com/shutterstock

Tweet you later!

Your Friends @Shutterstock

Sounds great, but I would love to choose between different kinds of tweets, like:

- only tweet uploads

- only tweet downloads

- only tweet latest uploads if activly clicked a button

Because automatically tweeting all downloads would enable competitors to see quite good how much one is earning.

Bye,

Robert

Awesome!! Just another great reason why Shutterstock is #1

#4 by my sales! ;)

Tweet Tweet!

#1 by double in quantity, but just #2 in dollars.

Now I just need to upload something... been too long

I wonder why anyone would be afraid of that.

I love automation in its many forms, so I think this is a pretty cool offering.

However, for those of us who aren't particularly active submitters but would like to try this anyway, I'd like to make sure of one thing... if there aren't any downloads on a given day, will it report that I had zero downloads, or will no tweet be sent? (The latter is clearly preferable.)

It would be nice to be able to customize which tweets are sent, as the daily d/l count tweets are less interesting (to me) than the newly-accepted images tweets.

I love it but I won't use it if it reveals my download numbers. How many images a contributor licensec a day is nobodys business but the contributor. Might as well just Tweet my bank statment.

Then just unclick the box that tweets the daily number

Cool, I had not signed up for it yet just saw it in the newsletter. If I can turn it off then I think this will be a useful tool.

Thanks Shutterstock

Can it be made to also add the number of video sales? In my tweet today, I see it only added the number of photos but not video.

Or can it be made to report video as a seperate thing?

Personally I would rather that as I don't shoot much still photographs anymore.

Thanks again, really like the attention to my portfolio.

Jake

Of course this feature is a great deal.

But it's also not bad if images accepted on Monday customers can found by keywords on Wednesday or (in the worst case) on Thursday, but not on next Saturday or Sunday :(

To my regret new service don't bring as much sales as normal indexation of new images. Due to the fact that customers can't find my new images by keywords or on categories page (by newest first) my sales have fallen by a half compared with last weeks. And no any sales of new images, that strange.

Interesting thing that customers from twitter will see this falling. I don't think that it's good advertisement for my portfolio :(

And if this will continue in the future I will have to abandon this service :(

we'll see

Ideally you could connect our referral Id for buyers to the "xyz images uploaded tweet" and our photographer referral ID to "just sold xyz images". SY
