Sari ONeal
20 hours ago, Milo J said: That's sad, but on the other hand at least you don't need to get mad over the money you're losing on those sales. I'm furious right now, getting a lot of beautiful ODD's and even cart video sales - and making less than half of what I would have earned for them in December. My highest of the month image sale has been upped from 44 to 46 cents, woooow......... 😐 And re: what you said about being furious about the bigger sales and what they could be -- I DID have a video sale that would have netted me at least double per the old rules, now I got a pittance. Had it been one of those penny sales it wouldn't have made any difference, but this one would have made a big difference. So there's that, too. On top of having extraordinarily slow sales, of course. Luisa Puccini
Yesterday I reached Level 2. 100 images sold for a total of $ 16,03. And Depositphotos is lowering royalties too. Happy 2021!
Alexandre Rotenberg
I just reached Tier 2 and on my way to riches! First 100 images earned me a whopping $24.25. Compared to my first 100 images in 2020, 52.7% drop ($51.64) Compared to my first 100 images in 2019, 46.9% drop ($45.55) Can't wait to report on my first 250 downloads (beginning of Tier 3)! On my way to have a steak-lunch courtesy of SS 🤨
Reimar
SS has gone from being my top earner to 1/2 to 1/4 of the income of my other two sites. I doubt higher levels will change this.
Primus1
Hmm? I woke up every morning, saying: 'Today there will be some new sales'. Everything that is new, is new morning ... Well, I am glad that there is at least a new morning. Sales cross platforms are trapped in GroundHogDay!
Kamira
I'm already on level 3. So far SS is a disaster. I've earned 1/3 of what I earned by this date compared to last year and 1/12 compared to 2016. Submitting new content is a waste if time.

Congratulations to your new level. Well deserved, you have an amazing portfolio.

Yes, it's getting harder and harder to find the motivation to shoot, process and keyword. BTW ...How do you find other photographer's portfolios? There used to be links next to the contributor's name on the forum but I can no longer find them

Rob Atherton
On 12th Jan 2020, I was on 29 sales for $11.72 On 12th Jan 2021, I'm on 29 sales for $3.64 Based on my earnings for last year, I reckon the new Level 4 is roughly the equivalent of where I was at the start of 2020 ($0.33 for a basic image sale). Foodio
I'm at level 3 now and expect to be level 4 by the end of the month. So far this week as well as the end of last week things have been looking up slightly in terms of higher value sales...but still very far off where they were in 2020. We shall see. Kamira
But...did SS change something? Microstock has been going downhill for a few years but this January has been so far an absolute disaster. It could be the New Year plus Covid but the drop has been huge.
Thomas Pajot
Why "On demand" sales are so low recently ? with the $10 subscriptions, "On demand" sales was the only way to have correct days.

Former_Poster
Is anyone getting video sales for old "normal" amounts? Every one i have is a subscription or web streaming. None of the usual price range ones at all. Have they switched people to new ultra cheap packages?
Foodio
Transitioning to a completely subscription based model is the end game isn't it?
Former_Poster
I suspect it is. Once you start undercutting yourself its very hard to stop. SS clearly has the aim of being the absolute cheapest for all long term.

In relation to the size of your portfolio this is an excellent achievement. Based on my figures from last year I hoped to get there till the end of the month. But right now downloads for me here at shutterstock a very low. Income as well.
chyworks
Thanks Wilm! You will definitely get there. Just that, the number of dls and the income seems to practice social distancing themselves too! SMH

I hadn't been uploading much lately, but thought I'd throw a few up there yesterday. Entire batch rejected for focus. (Magically all good the second time around.) Then I uploaded a time lapse video, got it rejected for "frame rate / shutter speed" issues. This AI review is stupid anymore. Reminded me why I stopped uploading.
Former_Poster
Yesterday they had a "bad focus day". I got 36/36 rejected. Reuploaded immediately and 34/36 got in. Its a total crap shoot.
