New earnings structure for Contributors

Recommended Posts

I am 12 years on the runoff.
Today 100 sales - $ 28
Last month, 100 sales = $ 60-70
2 times drop in income
6th level
I can not imagine what will happen to level 1

Yesterday "Single & other sale " $0.25, $0.10, $0.31, $0.87, $0.18, $0.18, $0.14, $0.10. It's much more than before in numbers, but not worth much. The Subscription and Enhanced remained the same.
Can anyone explain this?

Looks like we're all on level one... Why doesn't shutterstock tell us what level we are on since June 1? We all don't understand what's going on. Shutterstock owes us an explanation of our level.

Reading a lot of post in this thread makes me kinda strange feelings.

All these "i don't understand what is going on" looks like typical unnecessary excess pathetic scenes from C category movies.

Do yous have the same problem with reality perception in whole life?

Think about it... Level 1 is 0-100 sales. That means in your case (given you sell 100 photos daily) that on 2nd of January 2021, you will already go from level 1 to level 2.

On 5th January 2021, after 5 days and 500 sales, you will have reached level 3 already. And so on....  Level 6 is going to take 250 days to reach...

In any case:

- The reset to level 1 is just unfair.

- on the other hand, given that most sales might be 10 cent sales anyway, it doesn't really matter which level you are in...

- All in all, it's probably time to think about turning off your portfolio!

So now, based on the table, we will earn less than 0.25$ for every sale for clients who have 350+ images subscription. And the level doesn't matter. That's the reason of changes. SS has a lot of those clients=)

We are moving to a percentage based earnings model for all licensing plans. The amount contributors earn from each download is a percentage of the price paid by the customer for that license.

This means your commission will always be a percent of what the customer paid for their license. The flat rate commissions (like 25¢) are going away.

how much do you make and how many photos do you have, don’t you think you’re robbing us?

Whether you're on level #1 or level #6 you still get only 10 cents if you sell a sub from the 750 pack...as you can see from the table (line 17):

After 7 years as SS contributors, it is my first-time message on the whole forum of SS! But after this announcement I have to write my opinion: it is terrible and this SS announcement and new earnings strategy show that they have not any consideration for all contributors … SS forgets that if they existed, it is thanks to their contributors … but in a few times SS contributors will leave one by one after deleted all files.

Just for info, since a few months and years, it has become more profitable to sell on others microstocks, now it is confirmed! Next job for me: remove all my files from SS because it not correct and I cannot accept it.

Bye Bye SS.

All the best to all contributors and take care!

My video portfolio of over 14,600 clips has been disabled until this stupidity has been undone. Join the Stock Submitters Coalition to help fight this nonsense. Just out of curiosity, I viewed your video portfolio about six hours after your post and I was still able to see all your videos. I went so far as to to be able to add one clip to the purchase basket (though I didn't actually try to complete the checkout). I assume I could have carried on to make the ppurchase.Do we know if disabling one's video portfolio should take instant effect? I'm planning to do the same myself. I'm in the UK.

It doesn’t work that way. You only disabling the usage of your content in porno or medical stuff. There’s an explanation.

this is not exact :

Customers are never permitted to use your content in a way that is defamatory, deceptive, pornographic, libelous, obscene, or illegal.

if you say no, they stop to sell  image and video.

but maybe with delay.

i wait to have my 35$ minimum cashout and i will say NO

No one knows a lawyer to know if this is legal ? Uber must have descent minimum payout, musicians and producers too.. what about us ?

It does work that way, stop spreading false information. Many people, including myself, have removed their images from Shutterstock this way.
