  1. Or is it just my problem? When upload ends the button forward does not work. Try to submit again and they say it's already uploaded. This kind of error never happen to me before .....
  2. The problem with FTP uploads: since May of this year all of the footages in the 4K quality ( 100 - 300 Mb of each) at the side of Shutterstock account come with an error "We can't read what's in your file. Please re-save or re-export your file, and try uploading it again." These have been several attempts with a total of over 100 files. (!) Same footage in HD quality uploaded successfully. * And from the Shutterstock technical support side, I get the impression, that I get answers from artificial intelligence but not from a real person, who can understand the essence of the problem.
  3. Hello I am new to Shutterstock and really just getting started in photography in a serious manner. I live in Central Virginia, and am semi retired. My question: Is there a way to see if your approved uploads are being viewed? It would be a great help to have this type of statistical information. Perhaps I have overlooked this option and hope someone can help me out. Thanks for your help.
  4. Hi, I signed up as a contributor yesterday and tried to upload my first 10 images, all jpegs between 14.2 and 34.6 MB each. After more than 2 hours only two showed slight progress in the bar in the upload window. I cancelled and tried to submit just one image at a time. So far I have managed to upload and submit 4 images for review, but I have had to try at least twice with those images that have eventually gotten through. On the first go I wait an hour or so. When it still isn't uploaded I cancel the upload, log out and then log back in and try again. This is the only way I seem to be able to get it to work, and even then I am waiting a long time for the upload to complete. Is anyone else having this problem? I've read other forum threads where people mention very slow upload times. I am wondering if it is just me or others are experiencing this right now? My internet speed, while not super fast, is not slow and works quickly and fine for anything else I ever do on the internet, including any uploading or downloading. So I feel like the problem may be with SS. I will be visiting someone this week with super fast internet and will test it there to see if I can get my images to upload more quickly.
  5. I am kind of confused here. i have been uploading videoclips via ftp and at first the upload seem very slow despite having a fast internet. then after upload, i find that the number of uploaded clips is either double or close. i did 39clips, the uploaded was 68. i then did 75, the uploaded was 128. in each case i have had to clear the doubles at the edit face. does any one has similar experience?
  6. I submitted several photos a week ago. Two were kept in pending. I uploaded more photos. These were accepted and my two in pending remained in review prison. After nearly a week, with numerous later photos accepted I eventually gave up, deleted and resubmitted with new names. Photos later submitted are accepted. My purgatory ones are still in purgatory. Any ideas?
  7. hi all since some days I just receive e-mail notifications for video acceptance and "thank you for upload" e-mails after new uploads. But I don't receive image acceptance e-mails anymore is this happening to someone else ? thanks
  8. Hello, Does anyone else experience any problems while trying to upload via FTP? Since yesterday morning I've been trying to upload a batch of 50 photos with no success. I already uploaded the files 3 times yet they still don't show up under the "not yet submitted" tab. Thanks! Emil
  9. Hey guys, Does your sales usually pick up towards the end of the month or is it all pretty low till January. I’m asking because I have a few photos I would like to upload, but I don’t know if I should wait until next month to do so. bonus question: If your sales are good in December, would you mind telling me what kind of content usually sells around this time of year that doesn’t have to do with Christmas? thank you!
  10. Hi In July last year I posted the following statement here - https://forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/89053-small-milestone/ "Next targets, 1000 images online, and making payout every month. Longer term, making $100/month across all agencies." Well, today I hit 1002 images online at SS, and am hitting the $$$ targets For anyone struggling to stay focused on targets, I'll share something that helped. In October 2016, I was at 460 images, a shortfall of 540. I set a date of 31st March 2017, and made simple spreadsheet showing how many images I needed to get accepted every week, and tracked my progress. I also listed loads of potential subjects, with a target number of images for each one. If I was lacking inspiration, I referred to it for ideas. Below is what the tracker looks like, showing how many I uploaded each week and what I still needed to do. It's dead simple, but pm me if you want a copy. It really helped me stay on schedule. My new challenge is to think of a new target (maybe something more interesting than another 1000 images online!). Cheers Gary
  11. So, I think my account got "lost" in the transition to a new contributor front end. At the core of this is that I'm supposedly still in new reviewer status (I've haven't had my first one approved), which is supposed to limit me to 10 pending images. I have 11. Nine of those were submitted on 7/5 -- over two weeks ago, now. Curiously, those nine were actually submitted as a batch of 10, but one of them got rejected almost seconds after I uploaded. I certainly understand a bit of patience is required, but there's other "buggy" things. For example: I tried to delete my pending photos to re-upload (maybe refresh?), but it said I don't have the rights to do that. Or, on on my account, it shows a broken link for my profile picture (I haven't uploaded a profile picture) and the option to "delete photo." Clicking that gives me the same you-don't-have-those-rights error. Meanwhile, two technical support reports have gone utterly unanswered. I have receive no email notifications when I upload batches, since a batch I submitted on 6/16. It's entirely possible I *am* getting responses, but they're getting lost. I'm running windows 10, and this has occurred across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox). Again, I cannot emphasize this enough: I understand and respect the need for patience. But I worry that if my profile is broken--and I have mounting evidence to believe such is the case--I'm left in a contributor limbo: I cannot create a new account, I cannot resubmit those images and, quite possibly, I can't communicate with anyone about it. I'm effectively choked out of ever being a contributor. This forum feels like my last hope. Has this happened to anyone else?
  12. Very excited to reach the 100th sale on Shutterstock. Feels good. I feel though it is going a bit slow as if i have not so much of a great content or not a lot of it. I`ll just keep uploading new stuff and see where and how it goes from now on as well. Anyone else in this position?
  13. Hi, I'm sure there's probably questions like this every day but I'm new to Shutterstock (and stock photography as a whole) so excuse my inevitable ignorance, but this is something I'd really like to get into and even make a small secondary income from. I've just submitted my trial batch of 10 and have had all 10 rejected. All on focus and poor lighting, 8 also on noise and 2 even on composition. I shot them all (bar one on a Canon compact) on a Canon 700D and intentionally had a shallow depth of field in a couple of the photos (is this allowed in stock photography?). I didn't play with them much other than raising the colour saturation and maybe contrast in a few of them in an attempt to make the images more 'striking'. None were taken with stock photography in mind, but are just my own photgraphs I thought I'd submit as a starting point before I really get into it, I wondered if you could have a look at a couple and tell me where I'm going wrong, and maybe give me some pointers in this world I'm new to? Thanks all!

  15. After approximately 4 years of not uploading a single image to any Microstock site here I am again. My latest is inspired by the quality book I bought on Food Photography from Dave and Laurin. Thanks so much gurus. Here is one of the newest images. It is also the first time I am shooting for stock with my Sony A99.
