  1. What do you suggest, uploading 3 images now, 3 images next hour, 20 images in the afternoon and 20 images duging the night or all in a single batch?
  2. i get that error when i try to upload a photo.. We can't read what's in your file. Please re-save or re-export your file, and try uploading it again
  3. I recently started using xpiks to upload my pictures. The first time it went smooth. The second time around, after describing and keywording about 32 images, I uploaded them and noticed that the keywords and descriptions were missing for the images. Also, the first time I added keywords and descriptions with xpiks, I noticed after saving that the title space for each picture was automatically filled with what I put as the description for the image. And after saving, I noticed that xpiks saved a document next to the images in the folder they were located probably containing the keywords and description for each image, although this didn't happen for all the images I keyworded the first time around, but when I uploaded the pictures all the images had their keywords. This time around, the title space is still empty, and those files beside the images in their folder aren't there. But if I open up the images in xpiks, the keywords and description I added still show up I need assistance.
  4. Does anyone experience issues with uploading EPS files? Every time I uploaded vector EPS files (without JPGs according latest guidlines), no matter via FTP client or website form - they just disappeared like I never uploaded them. They never appeared: empty page, no files at all. When I tried to upload vectors in old-fashion way (along with JPG preview images) I got an error "you have to mark those images as illustrations", which means basically that the system still accepts raster images, but refuses vector files for some reason, no matter if they accompanied with JPSs or not.
  5. Hello colleagues, I am preparing to move to a new apartment so I will not upload new photos, because there will be no internet connection for some time. I've noticed that here are a lot of users talking about noticeably reducing the number of sales if they're inactive. Can you share your experience, after what time of inactivity is this drop in sales noticeable?
  6. I cannot upload certain EPS documents. For example, "hoodie mockup Black 1" has a required minimum of 4 megapixels (artboard = 2000px x 2000px), which amounts to a file of over 100 megabytes (118 megabytes, to be exact). I then reduced the size of the file "hoodie mockup Black 1B-01" (even though I knew it would be useless, I did it to make a point) to 3,6 megapixels (artboard = 1300px x 1300px). That ended up a file with less than 100 megabytes total (91,9 megabytes), which allowed me to surpass the first step. But, in the final step, the upload is denied, being less than the required 4 megapixels (please see photos attached). Another situation is that I want to upload a file with specific frame measures (A4, A5, A6, 5x6 in…) in the EPS file, which of course results in a small design within an artboard of 2000px x 2000px (please see photos attached). So, I would like to know how can I send such files? Furthermore, I would like to leave the suggestion that, although this new feature is good, reducing the time for uploading, as you can well verify, it is not totally efficient. I would like to suggest keeping this functionality, but with the possibility of, if a EPS and JPEG with the same name are uploaded simultaneously, the review program would give preference to the JPEG file for “preview”, generating an “alert” for the reviewer, to ensure correct matching previews. What I mean is, hold the current procedure, but insert the possibility of using the “old method” for uploading certain EPS files. Best, Pedro Alexandre Teixeira

  8. Hello, I was trying to upload videos in m4v format using FileZilla previously and Cyberduck today - failed both times. I don't see my videos in the Content Editor. Any suggestions why this happens? Thanks, Mindaugas
  9. If I have a batch of images of a similar topic, I often use File Explorer to rename them - this creates filenames Pizza (1).jpg - Pizza (2).jpg etc. These renamed files upload fine using the web uploader, however they are rejected by FTP. I know Shutterstock does specify parentheses are not allowed in filenames, but it's time-consuming to have to rename files individually. As parentheses in the filename is something Windows does automatically, can I request consideration for parentheses to be allowed through FTP please?
  10. For some reason several days ago keywords stop automatically being populated from images as it was before and it is significantly increased the amount of time for the whole process. Nothing is wrong with my images: all metadata (titles, descriptions, keywords) was properly assigned to images in Adobe Bridge. I even tested my old (previously successfully submitted images) - their metadata didn't proceed either, so it is obviously some bug on Shutterstock side. No matter if I upload via web or FTP - still no automatic extraction of metadata from images. Has anyone else experienced this?
  11. Hello! For about 3 years, I uploaded video on the Shutterstock with the following parameters: File Format - QuickTime .mov Frame Rates - 30 Resolution - 1920х1080 Channels - RGB+Alpha channel Codec - PNG Until October 2018 there were no problems with these videos. For almost 2 months now, when trying to upload such videos to Shutterstock, they do not appear in pending, but an error message appears: "We do not currently support the codec of your video. Please re-export to one of our accepted codecs. Learn more about our technical requirements." I did not change anything in the render settings of my videos. And on all other microstock this files are uploaded without any problems. I tried to upload those videos that are ALREADY in my portfolio, but nothing changes. Video does not appear in pending, and I see the same error. I have contacted Shutterstock technical support 3 times already. I am constantly asked to read the technical requirements that I know and do everything in accordance with them. When I send details with screenshots about how I make videos, they tell me "I would like to inform you that your case has been escalated to the concerned department on priority basis and I will get back to you as soon as I get the update and assist you further." And this is all - further silence and ignore. I sent an example of such a video to tech support so that they could tell what technical requirement was not met. But there is no answer and probably will not be. Why am I sure that the problem is on the side of Shutterstock: 1 - I uploaded these videos for about 3 years - no problem. I haven't changed anything in settings since then. 2 - Even previously approved similar videos are not uploaded - the same error. 3 - There are no problems with all the other leading microstocks (Pond5, Adobe, Videohive, 123rf). I just want to ask if anyone has encountered this problem? If so, maybe you solved it somehow? Thanks
  12. Hi all, I was uploading my vectors with its corresponding jpgs. The system said I uploaded the vectors but did not upload the jpgs. Is it a bug?
  13. Hi everyone I have 2 questions 1) I have a range of textile designs which have separate channels of colours. But the issue is that there is no way to upload PSD file. Customers need textile design in separate colours. 2) how can work "On demand" action? I mean costumer will contact directly? Or via shutterstock? If through shutterstock then If he demand color separation of a design then how can we upload? My portfolio is: www.shutterstock.com/g/umarhayat63 Lot thanks
  14. I uploaded 59 videos successfully via FTP. CSV was uploaded to apply metadata to the clips, but about 80% of the clips have the wrong information applied to them. Metadata from the CSV appears on the wrong clips. I've uploaded the CSV several times with the same result. Column names are correct and I am using the same template that has worked without issues in the past. I changed the metadata manually on a few clips, but even then, it does not allow me to choose more than one category for those clips. There have been a few threads addressing CSV problems, but the last one was over a month ago. Is this still a known issue? Is doing this manually my only option?
  15. Where have all the titles to images gone? I thought they used to be uploaded in still images but when looking through my and others portfolios I don't see any titles, only descriptions. Did Shutterstock do away with all the titles? I take a lot of time to use up the 200 characters available which is a combination of title and description. But after I upload I only see the characters my descriptions counted. Why is Shutterstock deleting or not uploading the titles I invested so much time in? I use photoshop elements to put my metadata in file Info. Some sites separate out titles from description, others do not. How do I make it so all my titles are used? Am I going to have to just cut and paste my titles in before beginning of description in Shutterstock in order to use all my 200 characters? Or are the titles being used somehow just without anyone seeing them? If I put title in Title field and Title at start of description in meta data Info before uploading to get title in 200 characters allowed, I will most likely be deleting it from a lot of other sites or doing a lot of cutting and pasting. Any thoughts on how to solve this? Or insight into Shutterstocks thoughts on Titles? Thanks
  16. Hi, I have looked and looked but can not find the exact technical way to add a reference image to a submission. Can someone please spell out how to do this or direct me to a link that will tell me. Everything I find tells me it has to be done but not how to do it. Thank you Dan
  17. Hi everyone, I have searched a lot through the website but still couldn't find a proper guide how to meet Shutterstock's requirements for uploading seamless patterns. I'm not new in Illustrator and know how to create and use seamless patterns I understand that all objects and fills have to be expanded, unlocked, strokes and text outlined etc. However, none of my submittions were aproved because of the reason “Inaccessible Vector Objects -- All sublayers must be unlocked and all effects must be expanded”. Checked everything several times – all objects inside patterns are expanded, no texts and strokes. Then read at Shutterstock's vector graphics guide that you need to expand shapes with applied pattern fills before uploading. I understood that in this case the patterns will stop being seamless but tried to follow the guide and upload. And, of course, got another rejection for an expected reason “Not a Seamless Design – Design is not seamless. Please remove 'seamless' from title and/or keywords”. D'oh! Here's a short screencast in the attachment. I'm extremely confused how to meet Shutterstock's requirement regarding seamless patterns. I hope somebody can help me to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thank you in advance! Best regards, Alex 2018-02-05_16-58-58.mp4
  18. Hello, I was wondering if any of you that use Xpiks have the same problem as I do and if anyone has found a solution. When I click on suggest keywords, the window opens but it rarely works properly. It will work maybe for the first two pictures or so and afterward it seems to have a conflict with my wireless adaptor and it shuts my internet down for a couple of seconds, up to a minute. After that it works again for a couple of pictures and then it shuts the internet down again. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Thanks! Emil
  19. I cannot upload a profile photo in my Public Information section. I have tried various photos and various sizes within the parameters given but still I just get "unable to upload profile photo". I have made contact a couple of times via email but have not received a reply. Any answers on this please? Many thanks
  20. Please help. Scanned signed model release. Saved as jpeg. File is well under 20mb. But when trying to upload, keep getting message: 'Image file is incorrectly formatted'. What am I missing here?
  21. Please check these again. The keywords were in place and conforming to your standards when I pressed the "submit" button. I shouldn't have to upload them a second time. Batch ID: 193725391 Batch ID: 193722058 Batch ID: 193721311 Oddly, Batch ID: 171269890 (09/26/2017) are listed rejected because of keywords (which were not missing nor inappropriate), yet the images are in my catalogue. I assumed the same night happen with the other three listed here, but—not.
  22. The new image submission format is challenging for me, especially with multiple images. I want the old method back. It must be me, but it is clumbsy, and the copy does not work, and the suggested keywords really miss the point. Then the misspelling check is worse than ever. Is anyone else having issues?
  23. Just rotating circle and nothing happens. Bug appears randomly, i can't find the pattern. Tried different browsers - same results. Do anyone have such experience?
  24. I am very new here and need to put my images into sets. I am trying to think of how to do that and what makes sense and helps buyers find what they need. For instance, I have beach pictures from Mexico, Australia, and the east and west coasts of the U.S. Would buyers find those better under "Beaches" or in sets for each location? The same with boats, children, etc. What works best for you? I now have 125 images and I need to get organized, I think. Thanks for any advice...
  25. A strange question that I am sure that many have pondered over. Is it better to upload on an 'ad hoc' basis when you have finished processing or do you think that uploading in blocks of images is better? I do not know what impacts your visibility or exposure however, it does seem from peoples experiences that everything has some impact. Does anyone have a particular routine or strategy that they like? Let me know what you think.
