  1. What do you suggest, uploading 3 images now, 3 images next hour, 20 images in the afternoon and 20 images duging the night or all in a single batch?
  2. I am still reading through upload requirements. However, I am not finding the answer to this generic question. Can we upload and get approved images or videos that have an artistic viewpoint? I know Shutterstock sells illustrations, but I don't work with that medium yet. I have attached a photograph as an example. The image was taken on the west coast near the water. I inverted the colors to make something interesting. Also, if we are able to upload artistic images, do they need to adhere to the same requirements or any at all? For example, if this image is out of focus, does that matter like a standard stock image would? Thanks.
  3. I have noticed that when I submit photos for reviewing, I can't change some of the details like add more keywords or fix them, can't update description. I even had situations when for some reason I had one photo left behind after submitting a set of photos. Then I can't add that photo to the pending submission group and automatically attach the same keywords and description. My recent experience put me in a situation when I had to delete all photos from review page just because I have noticed the same keyword inserted twice. I couldn't edit so needed to delete the whole group and upload again. It's a waste of time and resources. I would suggest to update the website tools to have more option to edit details.
  4. Hi everybody I'm a programmer and microstocker at the same time and today I'm pleased to present my piece of free and open source software. It's named Xpiks (Cross-platform Image Keywoarding Software) - keywording and uploading tool for microstock photographers and illustrators. It was written from scratch with aim to make it more usefull, convenient and quicker than existing tools. Program is available for OS X, Windows and Linux x64. Main features: convenient keywording capabilities (XMP/IPTC metadata) uploading images to Stock Agencies' FTP hosts (keeping encrypted list of credentials) keywords suggestion based on Shutterstock API or on the local library search through loaded images by any metadata ability to upload vector (eps/ai) files along with images automatically zip vectors and previews if needed checks for potential problems before upload (insufficient resolution, missing metadata etc.) checks spelling and proposes spell suggestions Main website: http://ribtoks.github.io/xpiks/ UPD. In case you've found any bugs or misfunction, please, check out this page (http://ribtoks.github.io/xpiks/blog/2015/how-to-report-an-error) on how to report it. If you have any questions please, ask them in the Support section on the Xpiks Website, because it's hard to keep track of all forums. I will definitely respond within 24 hours (due to the difference in time zones). I'm developing Xpiks only in my free time and anybody is welcome to join the development on Github (https://github.com/Ribtoks/xpiks). Any help would be highly appreciated - see Contributors Guidelines file in the repository.
  5. I know that SS requires vector artboard size to be above 4MP. But today, I realized that it must be less than 25MP as well? Is this something new or has been there all the while?
  6. Hi All, I am fairly new to Shutterstock and I have been trying to upload footage to Shutterstock for some time, but I seem to encounter the same problem every time. I succeed, on a grand scale, by uploading the same clips repetitively until I stop it. Last night I had a queue of about 12 clips in FileZilla. The first two clips in the queue uploaded a total of 23 times and none of the rest uploaded at all. I cannot figure out why. I use FileZilla in the same way for other uploads with no problems. This is killing my available data (I can't get unlimited at the moment) and the only solution is to upload 1 clip at a time and stop it from repeating. That is obviously not feasible. I would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks, Johan
  7. I've previously uploaded 2 vectors with no issues. But for some reason this current one that I'm trying to upload keeps coming up with the error posted above. The dimensions are 2400 x 2674px... so 6.42 megapixels I'm not sure what they mean by my artwork and not my artboard. The entire artboard/canvas area is covered.
  8. Some of my photo has been accepted. I want to upload them another site. what say shutterstock policy
  9. "The size of your artwork (not the size of the artboard) must be at least 4 megapixels." This is the message I keep getting. I haven't uploaded any vectors since SS made it "easier" and now this message keeps appearing. What's the catch? Thanks in advance for your help.
  10. hi when i upload my image say = "The main subject of this image is not in focus" 😐 why?
  11. Hello. I have recently tried to upload images to shutterstock but all of them didn't pass the review part. now some had valid reason but most of them didn't pass because thy are "out of focus". so i went and checked the photos and on my pc they were sharp and in focus, but when i checked the photos in shutterstock thy were blurry. so i tried uploading them again and the same thing happened. the original photos are clear and in focus, but on shutterstock they appear blurry and slightly out of focus. can someone please tell me what is happening. thank you for your time.
  12. Hi Everyone, I'm new to this place and curious to know after how many images uploads you got your first download and what was your first payment. I have been a contributor for over a month now and i haven't got any downloads yet. Is it normal for everyone or it's just me. How do you guys select the appropriate tags for your images??? How important are tags for the images? How do you guys motivate yourself and keep uploading and never give up?
  13. I keep hitting a 3600 second (1hr) timeout during upload, a main reason I'm considering ditching my current internet service provider for a fiber based (and, incredulously, cheaper) offering. Would anyone provide an average Mbps, especially if you have fiber internet? Straight off your FTP, please, rather than a Speedtest result - I'm curious about which side has the bottleneck. Thanks! Related: I live in Raleigh, NC, a point of the "Research Triangle" and we're pretty spoiled with web access. How are folks with slower connections submitting footage files?
  14. Hi folks! This is my first ever post in this forum. So I've been facing an issue with my vector eps files. My old files have enough space around each of them, but 2 recently approved items don't have although I kept enough space around each of them. Why is it happening? I'm little bit frustrated Please help me. TIA! Best th_studio
  15. Uploaded almost 1500 pictures during last two weeks. One or two pictures were sold. New stuff not selling at all. Only old (or very old) ones. It looks like smth is broken and we are drowning in similars.
  16. So, what is the point of having a good password when anybody can grab it while I upload via ftp...?! Any chance of this to be resolved or at least an option for "web upload" for videos?
  17. So Filezilla seems to upload multiple clips of the same video file, my question is there anyway to preview these before I submit it? Currently it is only giving me an option of re-downloading the file all over again which is pure waste of time since most of my files are large 4K and that is a pure waste of time to see if the file uploaded is fully done or not.
  18. Hello, let's say I already randomly uploaded around 50 photos to shutterstock. Where can I see which pictures are already uploaded without comparing them to each new upload? Because shutterstock won't automatically detect the images which are already uploaded. Basically what I mean is that, when I am transferring photos from one folder to another (on the finder on my Mac) I get a notification that these photos already exist in that folder. Is there some kind of equivalent on shutterstock? Or do I have to check before each upload if that photo already uploaded? Thanks for your help! Cheers, T
  19. Does anyone experience issues with uploading EPS files? Every time I uploaded vector EPS files (without JPGs according latest guidlines), no matter via FTP client or website form - they just disappeared like I never uploaded them. They never appeared: empty page, no files at all. When I tried to upload vectors in old-fashion way (along with JPG preview images) I got an error "you have to mark those images as illustrations", which means basically that the system still accepts raster images, but refuses vector files for some reason, no matter if they accompanied with JPSs or not.
  20. @Alex Shutterstock Whole day I wasn't able to upload . Each time when I tryied to submit vector + preview ( 800x800 px) I got same message : " It looks like we didn't get all your files. Let's see what happened. Your image is too small; it must be at least 4 megapixels. Learn more about our technical requirements." Just for fun , I tryed to submit vector + 4000x4000 px preview and upload was successful ( ????????) Now there is 1 pending approval image notification on my dashboard and I even got " Thank you for your content upload ! " confirmation e-mail form SS. Is there some new standards for submitting vectors or this is just another bug ?
  21. I would like to delete an approved video. How can I do? Thanks, ALe
  22. Hi! I find I've made a somewhat minor mistake in uploading a number of images recently. I want to correct that single mistake in the description of each and all the images that have been rejected under that same reason (1). Is there a fast and easy way to do this? [I'm afraid I'll have to upload each image again, cut paste the keywords and description again for each image, etc.] Any suggestions you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you for your help!
  23. Hi, I signed up as a contributor yesterday and tried to upload my first 10 images, all jpegs between 14.2 and 34.6 MB each. After more than 2 hours only two showed slight progress in the bar in the upload window. I cancelled and tried to submit just one image at a time. So far I have managed to upload and submit 4 images for review, but I have had to try at least twice with those images that have eventually gotten through. On the first go I wait an hour or so. When it still isn't uploaded I cancel the upload, log out and then log back in and try again. This is the only way I seem to be able to get it to work, and even then I am waiting a long time for the upload to complete. Is anyone else having this problem? I've read other forum threads where people mention very slow upload times. I am wondering if it is just me or others are experiencing this right now? My internet speed, while not super fast, is not slow and works quickly and fine for anything else I ever do on the internet, including any uploading or downloading. So I feel like the problem may be with SS. I will be visiting someone this week with super fast internet and will test it there to see if I can get my images to upload more quickly.
  24. if i have a small company (with several employees) who produce vectors, template, etc, may i upload it to my shutterstock contributor account? or should i create another account with bussiness name? please, could anyone tell me the detail? please note, the right holder of all arts that produced by employee in the company is me. i pay them to draw vector stock for my company. i see something similar to this issue and they re doing fine, but i need a clear statement. thank you
  25. Hello! I upload a file in the format of EPS. But the site shows that the resolution of the file is less than 4 megapixels. I checked. This file is more than 4 megapixels. How to fix this error?
