  1. Hi every1! As a new contributor, (started in June, had my firt sale in July) i have an honest question: Since my 1st sale (July 18/2020) i've sold 31 photos 'til now, with a 182 images portfolio. Honestly: is that a good rate? I have no idea if that's a good, it's an average or a bad performance and i would like some opinions Note: i'm not professional photographer, just an amateur with an average acknowledge, a semiprofessional cam and a kind of good eye lol.
  2. hello everyone, I'm a graphic designer and i have some questions about selling vector stock i hope that experiencing contributors in this platforms help me get some insight. my questions are: obviously the first one will be if this worth my time? what are the best platform to sell stock vector? how many sale you have monthly? what items that sell well (posters,logos,patterns...)? how much you earn from each platform (you can avoid this if you don't feel comfortable to answer) ? individual or set? I would appreciate any help ,this will help me and help other designers that are new in vector stock contributing. thank you
  3. Hi everyone. I've sent my very first work for revision but I have a question: I have experience selling my work on sites like Turbosquid and CGTrader, but Shutterstock seem to work differently. How do I offer 3 different resolutions and prices for my product?. Do I have to send all 3 video resolutions for revision, or just the big 4k one?. Or I have to wait for my content to be approved so I can use a publishing form to set my prices and video format?, or it's all that done by Shutterstock?, so I don't have control over pricing and formats?. I'm confused, thank you very much.
  4. Hello there, I'm very new here and I have question to ask if someone could give me a tip. Here is my case. I bought many 3D models and I also created a 3ds max scene where all the 3d models will become isometrics. So my question is, can I sell only the isometric renders without breaking any term, conditions or copyright. I want to repeat myself, selling only the renders not the 3d model itself? Thank you very much and have a great time
  5. Hi, I'm new here and could use some advice I've uploaded some pics, but none of them seem to be selling. Below is a link to my profile: http://shutterstock.com/g/Susmith+Suresh

  8. Hello all, I began to upload about 2 months ago and I uploaded about 600 pics. Before that I had about 20 photos. For last two months I have only 4 sold photos. Is there a time period like photos are sold most or is it generally about the subject trend according to time ( like new year photos nowadays) ? BTW any advices are very welcome. Thanks in advance...
  9. One of my images was downloaded for the 20th time yesterday. Morning shot of Muscat seascape in warm tones. So, I would like to start this thread and invite you to post your images with 20 or above downloads. it would be nice to know what kind of images are really selling. Anybody interested?
  10. Is there a way I can find the tags or the imagens that are selling more during the week, month or something like that? Iยดm a new contributor from Brazil (less than 1 month), just sold 8 photos til now, and I would like to improve my performance. Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi, I'm new in Shutterstock. I have uploaded 111 photos, but sold only five times. I get on average one download a week. Is there something wrong with my photos, titles or keywords? I shoot a lot of nature close-ups and macros that don't have a very specific content, for example just some random leaves, branches or reeds with beautiful sunlight or moody foggy weather. Could it be that these kinds of photos aren't very commercial or that people can't find them from the mass? It annoys me that I spend so, so many hours editing and keywording my photos without getting any reward. Anna
  12. I finally made a website. https://www.rasicaphoto.com/ Is it necessary for a photographer to have a site today?

  16. I am very new here and need to put my images into sets. I am trying to think of how to do that and what makes sense and helps buyers find what they need. For instance, I have beach pictures from Mexico, Australia, and the east and west coasts of the U.S. Would buyers find those better under "Beaches" or in sets for each location? The same with boats, children, etc. What works best for you? I now have 125 images and I need to get organized, I think. Thanks for any advice...
  17. How can I tell if anyone has even clicked on one of my images to view it even if they don't buy it?
  18. I've been around Shutterstock for about 3 years now. Mainly submitting vector illustrations, but not only https://www.shutterstock.com/g/purealism First I did not put much effort into it. Just downloaded my altered work projects. Then I started experimenting: I tried non-vector illustrations, textures, cutout illustrations, business graphics, web design, backgrounds, even photography! Currently over 600 items. Acceptance rate is around 70/30. I aim for 100 percent. Halfway I learned about tags and am carefully tagging all my images roughly 50 tags. So no flaw there. Still in all 3 years I made 44$ (!) All the work, just not paying off. Please-please-please see my portfolio and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or maybe I'm producing not enough? Poor quality? But then again, I regularly look through top vectors, and some of them are relatively similar to mine in quality...
  19. Why are we starting to get so many $1.80 royalties on quality HD footage sales. Today's is very desirable and sellable clip of a baby on heart monitor equipment in ICU hospital. A clips when discounted was well worth $100 and up easily. This is discouraging and see NO reason to discount to this level. It hurts everyone. With quality clips this kind of mass discount makes little sense. Of course I'm not the CEO but I am a savvy and very successful businessman outside of the video industry. https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-1985917
  20. I wonder why when I click on one of my sets I can't get the "popular" image just the the last ones, so I have problems to promoting the best selling images from a certain set, and that can't be good I think, what do you think?
  21. Hello everyone, i have a question to photographers.. Can anyone tell me if we sell some of our photos to lets suppose shutterstock , can we sell those same photos to another site like istock as well ?
  22. Hi! I've been here for a month and I have not sold anything. Can you help me with some advice because I don't know where my mistakes are. I hope there's someone who will help me :(. https://www.shutterstock.com/g/Pius thx.
  23. Hello, So far, the images I up load to image libraries are produced exclusively for this purpose. Now I have an opportunity to quote for 35 book illustrations and, if successful, I would like to put these on Shutterstock too. I wondered what the copyright situation is concerning this? I would like to include in the quote that I hope to put the illustrations on image libraries. If the client says they are happy for this to happen then all is well. However, can I do this whether the customer likes it or not as I produced the images? I would mention, these illustrations have been commissioned for use in a 'one off' book which is to a gift. Many thanks
  24. I'm getting one after the other sales notices in my contributor app on my phone. Anyone else? This has been going on for half the day. I think there is an issue. Anyone else?
  25. My portfolio is still on the small side-- 497 images as of this moment and I have yet to sell enough to actually get paid--just short of $30 today. How many photos does one need before starting to earn enough to make all the data entry, editing etc worthwhile? What types of images typically sell well? I do landscapes, nature shots, scenes from Lancaster County, PA (a unique place with a distinct culture) cityscapes and so on. Any pointers are appreciated as well as feedback on my portfolio. Cheers and Happy holidays.
