  1. hello, I'm new here. Recently I wanted to submit my photo of a dirty ball. But it got rejected because it got "too much noise". I think they mistaken the scratches on the ball as noises. I've attached the picture below. any ways that my photo can get accepted? I don't want to remove the scratches because it's the main focus here
  2. Yesterday, I submitted 20 photographs. All of them were rejected by Shutterstock for the exact same reason of Noise/Film Grain. Most of these photographs do not have noise/film grain, and some pictures of mine that were much worse than these have been approved in the past (take a look at my portfolio; you'll see what I'm talking about). These photographs were taken with different equipment, so there isn't something wrong with the camera I'm using. Is there a way to appeal? I have submitted photos before, and many have been rejected, therefore I'm familiar with this system. What happened today is very strange, though. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Attached are some of the images I submitted. These are previews of the images, so the actual quality of the files is much higher than what you see. The preview also makes them slightly blurry. The black and white image was taken with a film camera, so there may be some film grain, but without the film grain, the photo would look digital, which isn't what I'm going for.
  3. Does anyone feel like their photos have been rejected like crazy anymore? Shutterstock used to accept all my photos, now I have so many that are rejected because the "subject is out of focus". I submitted the same photo in the same batch, just a different crop and one was rejected for the subject being out of focus and one was accepted. IT WAS THE EXACT SAME PHOTO! I'm getting so frustrated with this site but I make the most sales on here so I can't just forget about it. They're rejecting photos that other sites are accepting. And some of the reasons, I just don't understand. Ugh.
  4. hi when i upload my image say = "The main subject of this image is not in focus" 😐 why?
  5. Hello, There are some reviewers rejecting my images because the model release. BUT, i contacted the supporter, and a good supporter guy answer me there are a lot insues about it because NEW reviewers, and ask me try to upload again... Then, i did but the same images are refused (by the way, others images are APPROVED with the same model release as attached print). Please, someone tell for that new reviewers, the document i use are writed in PORTUGUESE, then need to be write in portuguese way. All requeriments are well filled. Attached an example... the same guy, the same release... some approved some reject.. This upset me a lot, and spend my time. Thanks for any help, and sorry for my english.
  6. Hello, I took an image of my Persian carpet & submitted as commercial (also with property release) and it was rejected (intellectual property reason). My question is, do you think I can submit it as editorial (things of human interest category) and how likely it will be accepted? You may say that go ahead and see if it works or not. But since rejection is very frustrating for me, I wanted to ask your opinion first (Also I am not much familiar with editorial). And how the caption should be? I attach the image, and also the link to my previous topic about this image (if you wanted to look at it anyway).
  7. I took a lot of photos at a festival the other day. Like military vehicles and demonstrations. I have shared the same pictures together with SS vd IS. My editorial posts were accepted as SS. The same visuals were all rejected IS. A place where anyone can easily enter. I didn't understand why he was rejected. Should editorial content require property permission. ? Reason not rejected: Problematic Location This photograph appears to have been produced at a location or venue where photographic rights are protected, therefore not permitted for use, including Unreleased. A property release must be obtained and submitted along with the image. Sample:
  8. How can I re submit content that was rejected and now is in the Rejected section? https://submit.shutterstock.com/rejected I don't see anyway to fix what was wrong and re submit, without doing all the process all over again(find the same pic out of thousands in the library, upload, add 50 keywords, title, category etc...) Is there a way to simply edit pictures in Rejected section to upload them again instantly when rejection reason was a missing keyword etc'... ? this is so frustrating! Thank you
  9. Curious, If one has a video rejected due to visible trademark, Is there a simple way to just flip it to editorial? Or do I have to go thru the whole process of uploading etc etc.? thanks
  10. Hello, I have just recently decided to reenter Shutterstock market and upload on daily bases, however, on the first submit I got rejection due to bitmapping. That's completely understandable, although still very confused about the ways to achieve shading/glow without 'drop shadow' and not going over the 15mb size limit. Blend tool is fine though, file size can quickly become incredibly large. So after the first reject, I dealt with issues though I received another reject this time because of the quoting 'Due to legal compliance restrictions, we cannot license this content in our collection'. Now I am very clueless whats going on. Can someone help me out and explain how come this UI design cannot be licensed? Every input will be much appreciated! Thanks, Martins
  11. Hello! Can anybody be of any assistance? I can't pass review with an image in spite of the fact my portfolio have already contained similar image, but in different style. The reason is "Non-licensable content". I decided to make this object in two different techniques, in order to a customer may have a choice. I'm trying to send it as an editorial content. For the first time everything was great. Please, explain, why do two almost analogous illustrations review in different ways? In attachments there is rejected one. And here accepted: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/february-1-2018-vector-illustration-oscar-1017077254
  12. Hello everyone! I'm currently trying to submit some new footage that I believe is perfect for stock sales. The content has a crisp, clear image, and is in 4K quality. However, when I try to upload the clip, it gets rejected for "Noise / Artifacts / Pixelation -- Clip contains excessive noise, compression artifacts, and pixelation " . But like I said, on my end the video is perfectly clear and crisp. There's no detectable noise, artifacts, or pixelation in the video, which leads me to believe that somehow my videos are getting compressed in a strange way when I upload the file. So what precautions can I take when rendering out the video file, and uploading the content? Currently I'm splicing the clips in premiere pro, and I render the clips in H.264 mp4 (matching the native quality and fps as the original clip), and then I use FileZilla for ftp upload. Is there a better format to be rendering my clips in to avoid strange compression post upload? I seriously have no clue as to why my clips would appear noisy or distorted post upload. Thanks for the help!

  21. I do not understand the reason for rejection. I have a video with a girl. "One or more of the attached model or property releases does not" . Does not - what? Sorry for my english, i'm not a native.
  22. This rejection is baffling. The title is "Moving Trees Number Twenty-four." Other images with similar titles have been accepted. What can I do about this? The canned reply says go look at the rejection which is pasted below. 494198728 Not Approved Title--Titles must be in English, may not contain unnecessary information and must relate to the image. --Gene
  23. Hello, everybody. I submitted this photo and it was rejected because of "poor lightning". I tried to fix it: I checked lights, shadows, white balance - everything looked good, but photo was rejected again. At third attempt to submit I tried to describe this photo as desaturated, but again photo was rejected. So, I don't know what to do... (( photo hasn't clipping highlits or darken shadows, it is normally exposed overall and has normal white balance. So... what is wrong with this photo? Help me, please...
