  1. Hello! I joined shutterstock about one yaer ago. And still no downloads. A few days ago i understand that photos in my catalog must be "published" to sell my photos. It was a big mistake and i fell myself like a fool. Finnaly i published my sets, but no one needs my work. Maybe i do something wrong again? Maybe i must to do something, but dont know what? Tell me please, how to get an effect by my labour? Honoured experts, maybe you can have a look for my portfolio and put some words here? What to do next? How to evolve my portfolio? (Im trying to upload some pics everey day) I love macro, and i spend a lot of time to get some result that will look nice (for me). Really - its a enough hard work, to make macro photo: It needs to set a light, use lens, which fits for theme, needs to choose background and object for shooting; in short it needs a lot of experiments. Because of giant zoom (~100x), blind must be so small, as it can, and as result - light is primary for my challenge. I have got 100W led lights... And. There downstairs is output: For another thing i making macro of flowers, but it not too interesting. I think, that more preferable is to upload packs of images. I'm right? P.S. What do you think about shutterstok as subject. Its yet 'alive'? It's real to make some money here? P.P.S. Sorry for my english, i'm know it not so good. link for portfolio https://www.shutterstock.com/g/mikhailin+mikhail+v

I got 100 videos in my portfolio now. 9 month ago I, having no graphics experience or background, decided to start learning After Effects and present my creations to the world. (Yeah, I have some cringy illustrations/videos at the end of my port, several of them even got sold ). So far it's been fun, there are, of course, some issues, but Shutterstock motivated me to do what I've never done before. So thank you, Shutterstock community and creators. I will continue to learn and create and hope this site won't disappoint me. P.S. What do you think about my port? Is there something I'm missing?
  4. I am sure almost everybody has some pix of that kind. Not so many sales usually but we love them! So let's share our not-so-commercial live treasures! 1-3 images, for example... And share how many sales the images had (optional!). Thanks in advance! I'll start. --- 1. This is a dusky leaf monkey. The number of sales - 0. https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/dusky-leaf-monkey-trachypithecus-obscurus-known-618670070 2. Macaque kids playing. 5. Hello, I've recently checked back on my account to see if any of my photos that I'd uploaded a long time ago had traction. Weird thing is my photos are "approved" but they can't be found anywhere. Even weirder I have a $2 sale... with no photos?? Here's the file that was sold ; http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=275502545 And here is my empty portfolio ; http://www.shutterstock.com/g/Osman+Kalkavan Help me solve this mystery please
  6. Hiya all, I'm relatively new to SS and was wondering if you all had any advice for beginners? I've been trying to promote my content on social media and have been trying to get as many various shots as possible and only upload my better work yet I'm still not seeing very many sales. While I know that my portfolio is small I'm looking for suggestions for any way to improve/get better at this. Thanks!

    Weak sales, what's wrong?

Hello, friends! Tell me, what can I do to increase sales? I am gradually increasing my portfolio, but the number of sales does not increase! New works are not for sale! What's wrong with my portfolio https://www.shutterstock.com/ru/g/sotnikovmikhail ?
  8. Hello, I am new here and I would like to know how I am doing. I would appreciate some feedback on my portfolio. Thanks in advance! https://www.shutterstock.com/es/g/worledit
  9. Good morning, I have been a Shutterstock dabbler for a while and made a couple of USD a month. I did it mostly for some fun. I was thinking to increase my portfolio and see if I can make some more sales this year. I haven't found what suits me to shoot as a main thread. I will be looking to do some studio or tabletop shots in the future. One of the points I noted from the early days is the advice to not post multiple shots of the same subject. However when I look on other portfolios I see what to me are several repetitive shots. Of course the quality is good. Some questions: Have I got it wrong? What constitutes sufficient difference in a shot to make it "different"? Is there a Shutterstock policy to limit the number of similar shots? Do reviewers reject shots for being too similar? Thanks Tom Carpenter
  10. Hi there ! Haven't submitted in Shutterstock for 6 or 7 years now. I used to read a lot in the critique forum and some time later decided to test myself by uploading several of my best shots to the site - with no success whatsoever.... They did not approve a single photograph ! Several days ago, I've recently decided to try my luck again having shot loads of new stuff during the last few years. And voila ! Both of my shots were immediately approved. My question is - did I improve my skills or did Sutterstock lower there criteria for approval ? Also, as I am planning to upload more pictures, can you please, explain how I can overview the statistics of my submitted stuff - e.g. the number of views and downloads of my shots. The portfolio menu seems quite insufficient to me.... Thanks in advance for your replies and sorry....English is not my mother language.
  11. I hope this isnt a silly question but I am trying to figure out how many views my small portfolio has had and I dont see anywhere where I can find out that information.
  12. Good day to all. Already about a month on Shutterstock, gradually fill the portfolio, but so far no sales. Maybe I have poor-quality photos, or I'm moving in the wrong direction on the subject of photos. I will be glad to see the opinion and criticism of more experienced colleagues who looked at my portfolio. Thanks in advance.
  13. I finally made a website. https://www.rasicaphoto.com/ Is it necessary for a photographer to have a site today?

Hello to all. I always follow the forum when I have the time and I must say that you are all very attentive and available. I desire to bring your shutterstock portfolio to your attention. I started at the end of the year 2017 and I uploaded about 2500 images. Photography is my hobby and this thing that I started has become an opportunity not to leave photographs in the computer. It's not my primary job, I spend ss and two other agencies on weekends, when it's bad weather, otherwise I'm out with my camera. From mid-August 2017 I have an average of 80 - 100 dw per month (some on demand - single so far two). Some advice to improve the portfolio. ???? Critical appearance and advice ... Thank you for your time.... (excuse my English, I use the translator)

    Portfolio Question

Hi everyone, I've been doing this for about 18 months now and have had a mixed experience. Just a few months ago I earned almost $120 in one month from image sales and 41 downloads just at SS. This month, so far I have earned not even $3.50 with a total of 10 downloads. I've read some forums and know the general suggestions of quality over quantity, but in tracking my stats I notice that if I upload a lot, the following months are high and if I don't upload a lot, sales drop drastically. I've also noticed that since 2016, new images will usually take months to start selling, if ever, where they used to often sell within the same day as uploading. However, given that I don't really have control over the market or SS algorithms I was hoping to do all I can on my end and get some honest advice on my portfolio. Am I on the right track? In your opinions, where could I improve? In other words, how are my choices of subjects, locations, compositions, lighting, framing, depth of field, field of view, editing, descriptions, keywords, etc? I would like to better focus my attention in the right direction. For example, I have spent a lot of time trying to improve my editing since I started, as well as decrease the actual time spent editing. But perhaps this is not as much of an issue and I should spend time creating stronger descriptions? Most of my effort recently has been on improving my skills for video, so any additional tips there would be greatly appreciated as well. I've attached my overall stats (with average lines) for reference. Thank you in advance, Tabor
  16. I've done already a 95 photo for bodybuilding. I worked on retouching, keywords and description very well and i only get 3 downloads. am i have any problem. i want to review my portfolio in the technical way ( photography and retouching ) and on the other way (uploading things) the time i uploaded this session, Keywords and description, and if you have any advice. 17. Hello. I have a sad story. January 26 received an image confirmation (Photo Id 1009170451) and it is still in the folder "Batches Pending Approval". I immediately wrote about the problem in technical support, but so far the situation remains the same. When I try to download this image again and present it as the number of the previous case, then the picture does not confirm to me. Has removed a problem image, has loaded anew. I wait for check and I tremble.
  18. Hi, here are images of my portfolio than have more than 1000 downloads. Show me yours
  19. Hi forum members, I lost my whole portfolio https://www.shutterstock.com/g/milanstojanovic?language=en at shutterstock, around ~3500 images. Can I get any help with, someone with same problem? Wrote to support team few days ago, no replay yet Anyone in same position?
  20. Maybe it's something simple but I can't find out how to do it: I'm trying to find the work of someone I knew (don't really know if he uploaded to SS, but I know he did some stock in the past). Just entering the name in the global SS searchbox isn't working. Any tips?
  21. Hi, I am new to Shutter stock and have around 60 images in my portfolio. Most of them are travel photos. I humbly request senior and experienced members to kindly see my portfolio and provide some inputs and feedbacks. Are my photos saleable?

    Missing Pictures

I am missing a number of pictures from my portfolio. I checked the pending or rejected list and they are not there. I could have sworn I saw them approved but I can find them, at least 10 images so far are just nowhere. I have done a search and the images doesn't come up for sale either. Can anyone help me out? Is there some way I can make a proper complaint

    Portfolio Disappearing

My portfolio is reduced from around 700 photos (I forgot if 700+) to 24 photos. Is anyone else facing this? The lack of any recent threads about this is worrying!
  24. The problem is - portfolio with my images is not accessible at Shutterstock. Then I click on link "Acvtive images" - "Oh no! This page does not exist." - message appeared. If I tried to find my files by regular search on Shutterstock site : https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/nude-girl-washing-shower-bath-her-348389204?src=nfizyFYOMZ5TTTwxXz6FLA-2-92 so, clicking on author's link "Oleg_Mit" give the same result - "This page does not exists" At the same time, video portfolio is accessible. Support have not responded me, so what to do in such situation?
