  1. Hi there. I have very recently made the switch from Nikon to Fuji, mainly because I wanted to reduce the size and weight of my kit. I love Nikon but I noticed that because of the weight (and size), I would leave my D700 home most of the time. So after a lot of reading I decided to take the plunge and sell all of my Nikon equipment, which I have now replaced with a Fuji X-T1, 10-24mm f/4, 35mm f/2 and as of today, the 50-140mm 2.8 lens, which I have ordered earlier. I was curious to see if there are other photographers here who use the Fuji X system for stock and to hear about your workflow and things like whether you shoot jpeg or raw, what editing software you believe works best for post processing etc. It would also be nice to see some portfolios. These are some test shots I took shortly after getting the X-T1 and first couple of lenses and I am really pleased with the quality. Now I can't wait to receive the 50-140mm.
  2. I m a loyal Nikon user but i couldn t resist to share this video. Enjoy it
  3. It's likely to be a noob question (I'm a noob, after all) but I'd like to know. I had the chance to take part in an in-shop event for the new Nikon Z series, being curious about mirrorless cameras I went and got to try the Z6 (actually to hold it and play with it a bit, since the shop didn't have any XQD card on hand and I couldn't wait too long). In any case, I loved the feel of the camera and the relative lightness of the dedicated 24-70 glass it had on, but the very noticeable flicker of the electronic viewfinder played havoc with my eyes, Given that I've never used a mirrorless before, is the flickering standard for electronic viewfinders, is it evident for some users and not others (I am severely short-sighted), or did I get a bad one? P.S. Not planning to buy in any case, I just wanted to know how the camera handled.
  4. Hi all, Merry Chrismas as the day approaches. I have been using Sony hvr z5u for all my wildlife and nature footages, which i do exclusively. I see the camera has been overtaken by events and i now need a 4k camera that is light, easy to carry around, but able to shoot quality footages for stock. i have done some reserches and things seem to point to mirrorless cameras. please help in determining which is the best, under 1300usd, which i have saved for such eventuality. is the sony alfa 6300 good enough? is anyone here using it? the question of overheating, that i read in a forum, does it still exist? what do you think of the long term use? as in... will things change so soon to render the morrorless..4k systems obsolete or can they last another 10 years like HD? this constant changes of gear can be costly if not well thought. any input please?
  5. Dear All, Could you please advise what I am missing here ? I took DSC 1676 in Illustration mode in my Sony A6300. Then made some enhancements in post and submitted as Illustration. The original DSC 1676 was attached as property release reference image. It was rejected due to following reason - "Reference Image -- A reference image is required or the attached reference image does not resemble the final image." The images are attached herewith for your easy reference. I am not being able to understand why the attached reference image does not resemble the final image. I took up the case and got a case no. Resubmitted with case no. but same fate - rejection. Wrote email , received reply, again wrote....seems I am failing to make someone understand that - THIS IS THE REFERENCE IMAGE. I want to get out of this reasoning and all. What is the way out ? How can I submit these images so that they are accepted as Illustration ? How do you do it ? Thanks in advance. Regards, Rudra Doc1.docx
  6. Hi all, I'm back looking for your expert opinions and advice yet again. I've started shooting weddings, and I'm looking to expand into this side of photography much more and so will need to invest in some more gear. I shoot Canon full frame but another wedding photographer friend of mine, who has been shooting canon for the last 12 years, said that she will most likely jump to mirrorless next year and will invest entirely in Sony. I've done some homework. Read a tonne of stuff. Now my head hurts and I'm just going round in circles. If I'm gonna invest in new gear - and I need to - I still can't decide whether to upgrade to the 5Div or whether to go Sony A7r ii? I'd love to hear your advice. best wishes, jennie
  7. Hi, I had the unfortunate incident in the weekend when my D3300 was dropped and no longer works. As unhappy as I was at the time I realized how much I enjoyed shooting with it. Instead of looking to buy the same camera I am seeing this as an opportunity to upgrade.! I had only owned my cameras for a few months so still exploring. I had bought a couple of lenses (35mm Nikon prime, Tamron 70-300mm) so not spent any mass amount on them but my question is this, as I have been looking into upgraded version, either D5500 or D7100/D7200 second hand I am trying to keep the price under £1000 and as I have not spent too much on lenses might also consider moving to Canon or Mirrorless and sell the lenses I have on ebay . At the moment I don't have a particular subject for what I shoot. I am not into Weddings or Portraits, nor did I find myself climbing high mountains to get that great scenic shot (not yet anyway). However, Scenery/Landscapes do attract to me so will probably continue with that. Street photography I would feel awkward taking photos of random people and can be quite frowned upon in the UK. I would like to take the camera with me on city break holidays as I have a few trips lined up for later this year. I keep finding myself watching reviews on the Mirrorless cameras but I think the low battery life would be quite frustrating. Also, the size of holding a bulkier DSLR feels more like you have a decent piece of kit in your hands. Tough choice really so wondered if anyone has any advice ? Is Mirrorless worth the switch for a Amateur photographer ?
  8. I'm just curious if anyone uses the EOS M for filmmaking. Any tips?
  9. Hi Im new here! Just went from using Canon DSLR to mirrorless Sony A7 II. cant say I enjoy the huge lack of batterylife, but looking forward to getting use to the Sony camera what are your opinion on mirrorless/DSLR?
