  2. From the album: what do you think?

A close up on a red Dahlia (chat noir). The picture was taken with a combined sigma Zoom/Macro lens. Is there any demand for this type of pictures? What can I do better next time?
  3. Hello everyone, Anyone here who could tell me if the Kenko extension tubes which usually come in a pack of 3 (12mm, 20mm, and 36mm) are worth it? Comparing them to 2 of Canon's they're pretty much half the price. I would like to experiment a bit of macro photography - nothing serious, but a proper lens at this moment would be expensive, and I was wondering if this would be a good way to get into it. Thanks for any replies.

  5. I'm looking to buy a lens for some macro projects I'm planning to do but don't have millions of pounds to spend. Was looking into the Sigma 105mm f2.8 for Canon and see that it has mixed reviews ranging from "best ever" to "don't waste your money". Just wondered if anyone else uses/has used this lens for macro work and care to share your thoughts? Maybe there is a better lens suggestion that I haven't considered? Cheers guys, Jennie ☺

  8. Anybody had the chance to test the new Tamron SP 90mm F2.8 Di VC USD ( F017)? Last month, when I finally decided to buy a Tamron SP 90mm F2.8 Di VC USD (F004, second version) for Nikon, it vanished overnight from the only, trustworthy, online lens distributor in my area. Now the new version is out but its price is double ($850 in my country), even higher as for the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED. Please help me decide which one should I buy? I want to use it on DX body for food photography, bugs, flowers. Unfortunately I can only buy it online, without the chance to try it before buying. How about the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro - Nikon, which is more affordable but will I regret this choice? Thank you very much in advance for your thoughts and advice.

  15. Well, I had some cash in Paypal, so I finally sprang for a 90mm f-2.8 Tamron macro. I got the one with image stabilization. Haven't used it yet, but the focus is amazingly fast, and from all the reports from you guys it should be very sharp. If necessary, I can put a 1.4x extender and use it as a 125mm f-4. It came with a lenshood and a free download of Silkipix for RAW stuff (and an instruction sheet in 12 languages).
