  1. BTW, if you upload in Xpiks, it automatically makes your filename "Shutterstock-compilant" so you don't need to worry about that. The trick is that locally you can have any names, just the names that you "create" on FTP server should be "compliant". Not sure if you can fix it in FileZilla.
  2. It's security. When you upload via FTP, your username and password are transferred via plan text through the internet. This is crazy nowadays as anybody who can see them if they are in the same network as you (e.g. if you connected to free WiFi anywhere). I wrote about that long time ago. Resolutions to this security hole could be: using SFTP (less advanced than FTPS), using FTPS (like Shutterstock) or using separate credentials for FTP upload (as Adobe stock / Fotolia does). So it's a rather good change.
  3. How to know exactly what buyers are searching for? And how many buyers search for it every month? Check out a new study in Xpiks blog on how to find the numbers and ideas: https://xpiksapp.com/blog/stock-photography-ideas/
  4. Ivan, I looked into your file. If you open it in Notepad++ (for example), you'll see the following: - file uses semicolon (';') as separators instead of comma (','). CSV is Comma-Separated Values (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values) - elements with spaces and commas should be in quotes e.g. 1.mp4;A static shot of a few trees with green leaves on a hillside in Gorkha, Nepal, during the summer, at sunset with the ridge of a large hill in the background.;Tree, nepal, green, sunset, golden, hour, light, wood, single, mountain, hill, hillside, trekking, Gorkha, Asia, adventure, nature, outdoor, warm, summer, sun, wind, tropical, heat, alone, rocking, province, region, static, tripod, shot, clip, ridge, leaves, yellow, orange, brown, earth, breeze, view, haze, foreground, background;Holidays; No;No should become this 1.mp4,"A static shot of a few trees with green leaves on a hillside in Gorkha, Nepal, during the summer, at sunset with the ridge of a large hill in the background.","Tree, nepal, green, sunset, golden, hour, light, wood, single, mountain, hill, hillside, trekking, Gorkha, Asia, adventure, nature, outdoor, warm, summer, sun, wind, tropical, heat, alone, rocking, province, region, static, tripod, shot, clip, ridge, leaves, yellow, orange, brown, earth, breeze, view, haze, foreground, background",Holidays,No,No P.S. Microsoft software rarely respects the open formats since they use their own formats. So they might screw your CSV if you will not select correct values for delimiters and space/comma strings somewhere in the settings
  5. Hi Ivan Could you try to generate the same CSV in Xpiks? https://xpiksapp.com/tutorials/howto-export-csv/ Most probably the issue is in tricky file format: maybe some of your keywords are not correctly saved in CSV so the final file format is corrupted. Can you send the CSV that you used for upload?
  6. Most probably your images will not be reviewed immediately. That means if you were not so lucky, the effect of uploading few times 3 images will be the same as with the batch. By sending 3 first images you will get into "review queue" and when fetched by reviewer, they will most probably fetch all your uploaded images.
  7. I gathered some data self-reported by contributors in forum to see more broad effect on earnings after 1 month from the change. https://xpiksapp.com/blog/2020/shutterstock-aftermath-june/ Subscriptions losses are totally aligned with previous calculations, but On-Demand downloads were less predictable.

  9. I did some calculations to estimate contributor earnings loss based on number of monthly downloads. Since you know your monthly downloads, you can check how much you are affected by this change. Here's a link to analysis: https://xpiksapp.com/blog/2020/new-shutterstock-earnings-breakdown/ and there's also a link to Jupyter notebook in the blogpost if you want to verify/change the calculations. Currently if you have around 100 monthly video downloads, you will loose around 2.5% of earnings for the whole year. But if you have only 20 video downloads per month, you will loose as much as 19% in total earnings. You can check more numbers in the blog

  14. I'm happy to announce Xpiks 1.5.3 update! Main feature is support for standalone vector files that is essential for new Shutterstock vector upload rules. Also it contains a handful of improvements and bugfixes. You can read in depth about this release and features in the Xpiks Blog: https://xpiksapp.com/blog/2019/xpiks-153-release
  15. I think it is not possible in Xpiks to delete keywords based on number of keywords. Closest thing in Xpiks you can do is to group images with similar keywords (I highly doubt you have 5000 images with unique keywords) and do so some of the steps described above. If you are a "power user" not afraid of command line applications, particularly exiftool (https://sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/) then you can export all keywords to csv file, open it in Excel, some some magic there and import them again with exiftool. In order to do that you would need to read the documentation on exiftool command line parameters.
  16. Hi Of course this is possible. There're 2 ways to do it. 1. Batch Editing (tutorial https://xpiksapp.com/tutorials/batch-basic/) using Partial changes (https://xpiksapp.com/tutorials/batch-partial/) - you set new keywords in a batch. This way all images will have same keywords (the ones that you will specify) 2. Deleting keywords from a batch (https://xpiksapp.com/tutorials/howto-delete-keywords/) - you specify keywords that you would like to remove in selected images. This way you will only remove keywords in a number of images in a batch.
  17. Hi. I don't understand your question. Description/Title/Keywords are saved inside the image. When you "Save" in Xpiks metadata is stored inside image/video files.
  18. I'm staring a croudfunding campaign for Xpiks! Please consider supporting Xpiks to make new awesome features become possible. Read more about it here: https://xpiksapp.com/donatecampaign/
