  1. The only guarantee you have is that the stock industry will not exist in the next few years if we don't do something. I for one will continue to fight for my livelihood in the best way I know how. Hope others will join.
  2. It will be. The current group of core people establishing the coalition are from all around the world. The idea is that once it is fully established decisions and leaders can be chosen by vote of the members.
  3. Join the other 4600+ contributors at www.stockcoalition.org . Great things are happening behind the scenes. Come be a part of making positive changes in the industry.
  4. One of the rules within the group is that we don't want the feed to be a bunch of complaints but specific actions. The ultimate goal of the coalition is to be a driving force in helping companies that license video and images know which stock agencies have the most fair agreements with contributors and guide them in that direction for acquiring content. The Coalition is currently in talks with several stock agencies.
  5. If you truly want to make a difference help us fight back and join the Stock Submitters Coalition. Exciting things are happening. https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/
  6. The Stock Submitters Coalition is up to 876 members and growing fast. We are actively working and making a difference. Please join and make a difference. https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/
  7. No one is sure how long it takes for it to actually become disabled. I did mine and someone said that 6 hours later it still appeared active.
  8. What do you mean? How long will the coalition be around. I am hoping for a very long time. My end goal is to develop enough sway within the industry that we can push the larger studios and production companies to only purchase from agencies that respect their contributors livelihoods.
  9. Everyone stop and read this. Its very important. Continue to quote it so that it doesn't get buried in the forum and others will see it. Many members of the Stock Submitters Coalition (the new coalition created to fight changes like these and you can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/ ) have reported to us that they received a communication from Shutterstock wanting them to sign a separate deal that will allow them to stay at what they said was the current percentage (Im assuming that means the previous structure) until the end of January and then they would be taken down to level 1 like everyone else. They are hoping to quell the rebellion by throwing a carrot in front of a select group of contributors and making them feel special. Just when you thought they couldn't get worse they go and do something like this. They are now offering different deals to select people in hopes of this all going away. Not to mention the deal they are offering still sucks. If you get one of these letters/emails I implore you to not sign it. In fact, I beg you to post it here and show the rest of the contributors what Shutterstock is trying to do behind everyones backs. Again, keep quoting and reposting this for others to see. Join the Stock Submitters Coalition and help fight this. We are over 600 members strong now and represent a portfolio of over 7.65 million. Our members have pushed articles out to many websites: https://fstoppers.com/originals/what-wrong-shutterstock-489338 , https://www.dpreview.com/news/7607355790/shutterstock-announces-new-earnings-structure-contributors-are-anything-but-happy , https://petapixel.com/2020/05/27/shutterstock-unveiled-a-new-royalty-structure-and-photographers-are-furious/ . Join in and help make a difference. https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/
  10. We have started a coalition to help fight these. For now the way to join is on a facebook group until I get a website up and running. https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/
  11. We have already begun the process. Its not a full union at this point but a coalition where contributors can band together and agree on how to deal with issues like these. Join the facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/ . I'm hoping to get a website up and running soon.
  12. My video portfolio of over 14,600 clips has been disabled until this stupidity has been undone. Join the Stock Submitters Coalition to help fight this nonsense. The website is still being created so the best way to join is to join the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/
  13. The Stock Submitters Coalition is now up to 524 members and represents a portfolio of over 7.25 million. If you haven't signed up yet you can do so here: https://forms.gle/h6kPuy9u1CcV6tYC6 . The Stock Submitter Coalition Facebook Group has also been created and you can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/ . For those who have joined but aren't receiving the emails it because we are getting hundreds of emails bouncing back as failed to deliver. You can get the same information on the facebook group page. Remember to disable your content licensing by June 1'st. It's time we showed them how we are capable of standing together. Spread the word.
