  1. Wow Laurin! That sounds amazing! Something I can cook well? And like? I would go with a very rustic vegetable soup. I'm not refined in cooking, so a lot of chopped up vegetables, some stock, and seasoning as it cooks down has usually turned out some very good meals over time. As far as my boys go, they really like my version of the BK burger on our grill. We get the generic patties from the local food service, but I grill them with salt, pepper and some Worcestershire Sauce when they flip. They call it our "family secret to good burgers" which always amuses me.
  2. Precisely why I stick with "Lorem Ipsum" in my mock-ups. Being funny and forgetting about a Photoshop layer is a great way to visit the unemployment office
  3. Always cut the green wire, but you have to wait until there is only 3 seconds left.
  4. Same here. I have a poorly lit steel chain that sells every week. I just don't get it, but I'm not going to complain! As far as reinvention, I've gone through phases where I just want to create abstracts, or shoot only flowers... Not a total re-do, but more of a creative fetish for a certain thing that seems to last for a few weeks at a time.
  5. Duct Tape. It seems to fix everything else.
  6. So here's a question, and believe me when I say I'm no lawyer of any sort and just wonder at how all this works... I'm in Chicago tonight. The gift shop is FULL of postcards featuring Navy Pier, the (former) Sears Tower, Water Tower, Wrigley Building... Last week I was at a Hilton in Dallas... Reunion Tower (That big green globe thing), downtown with specific neon on specific buildings, sculptures... Obviously people CAN shoot landmarks and they DO sell in the real world. A) Why is it "becoming" a problem? Who is going to shut down the people filling these gift shops, wether or not they are using our stock to sell up to 250,000 cards or whatever the limit is these days? Did I miss something? I thought lawyers were on staff to fight stuff like this and not just turtle up and take down all the great images from the world we live in.
  7. Steve, my 13th or 14th grandfather was paid to leave France and go to "New France" at Chateau Richer.
  8. Raised Catholic. Nothing I'm really proud of at this point. Some great architecture and artwork along the way, but the politics are worse than any government ever dreamt up, in my opinion.
  9. C'mon Laurin. Who doesn't love a polar bear in a bowtie?
  10. I think I have to pee. A beautiful, stunningly crisp and clear pee, but a pee.
  11. For the newbies to Shutterstock. Just a basic tip that you might find useful. [/img]
  12. Wasn't that guy one of the clean cut guys from Animal House? I haven't seen it in years, but it looks right -- Ah, I had to cheat. Peter Fonda! I can see the similarity, definitely!
  13. I wish he did, but... sorry he is an engineer That phone shot looks like it could be the cover art for a Kraftwerk CD! (That's a compliment)
  14. After posting, I went backwards through the 4 pages. Some great looking people, and I bet they all put up with way too much of our guff! Laurin, it was especially great to see your honey. You have mentioned her many times and I don't think I have ever seen a shot. She is beautiful, and I bet she has some of the most fantastically funny stories about your times together
