Looking for feedback especially on lighting and noise reduction. Image was taken during a rally outdoors on a cloudy day. How can I improve lighting, reduce noise in this kind of situation where I have no control of the situation other than the settings on my camera? My settings were, 105mm, f/9.0, 1/60 s, ISO 200. Thank you for looking and commenting!

For this kind of setting, expose for the face.  You seem to have gotten that right.  Bring a longer lens, so you can fill the frame with the speaker, because the backdrop does not add to your image.

You'll want to do things to adjust the lighting of the rest of the image, such as brightening the sign, so that the white is actually white, instead of grey.

I would take a class. Learn WB and how it works. decide what type of work you want to do and learn all about it and study those who do that. then go to another subject and learn all that. Photography is a life Long thing My friend. Im shooting 56 years and Learn everyday.

Thank you for the wise words, Lauren. I needed to hear that.  I've been trying to learn by reading books and watching videos but I think it's time to do as you say and take some classes.  I appreciate the time you devote to helping others improve their photography.

Thank you for taking the time to view my image and giving feedback. When I was shooting this image I remember wishing I had a longer lens.  I also see what you mean about the lighting.  As a learning exercize, I'll try some cropping and lighting adjustments in Photoshop to try to get this closer to the mark.
