Foggy Day Boston
© M.Brennan

One of my first attempts at long exposure photography. The boat with the sail was a happy mistake. It was originally out of frame but made its way in. I thought it ruined my shot but I have come to like it. Please let me know what could have been done better.

Sometimes unexpected results that look cool to us still look like mistakes to everyone else, and I'm afraid that would be the case for this one. The composition is rather poor overall--if you're going to include the boats, don't cut off their bottoms; show them. And I'm nor sure long exposure is suited to this scene. It makes the water smooth, but also kind of dull. Nothing really interesting to look at. And the light is drab. Go back and shoot when it's inviting and makes it look like a place someone might want to visit.

Agree. looks like a lot of mistakes. especially the composition. Trying to be arty is difficult in stock work. Name 3 things this image could be used for to help sell a product or service. I see None.

Hey, foggy Boston ! I recognize the Hancock tower :-)

Agree with all that is mentionned above. The boats are in or out, but don't leave just part of it. And I don't see the point of doing a long exposure for that kind of pics. It sounds that the picture is just blurry.
